This seems different to me.
With Miller the Rams apparently didn't pay attention to other edge rushers who might have been available because they thought Miller was going to rejoin the Rams.
But with AD? I would hope that they could negotiate with AD and still look at FA CBs and Edges at the same time. Actually, I'd be majorly disappointed if the FO couldn't multitask to that level.
Rams are more than capable of multitasking for FA’s.
I think that they are just picky about who they bring in. Gotta be players that really love football, are football smart, and appear to be good scheme and locker room fits. Plus, of course, must be affordable.
Those things probably screen out most FA’s but it’s hard to argue with Rams results.
And yeah, hindsight tells us that they were over reliant on signing Miller. Lesson learned.
