Going to a Spurs home game in San Antonio vs the Lakers is difficult when a good chunk of the crowd is rooting for LA. It's an odd thing but perhaps fan loyalty developed long before the Spurs came to the NBA and has been generationally passed down. Anyway, people think it's odd i'm a Rams fan here, despite not ever living in LA (i did spend two years in Oakland for school but remained a loyal Rams fan, as a matter of fact when i lived there one Monday, after the Rams beat SF in either 90 or 91, someone tore my Rams sticker off my car). Anyway... so i totally get what he says in the article. The spurs have won quite a few championships but i'm not sure we've converted the SA Lakers masses just yet.
