Belichick is the
villain in Deflate Gate. The sleight of hand got everyone focusing on Brady. From 2000 to 2006 New England averaged the same fumble ratio of every other team.
Then!! Spygate happens. Does the shady stuff disappear? Hardly.
From 2007 to 2014 when the Colts exposed the deflated footballs, New England during that span fumbled
well below average.
It’s harder for a defender to punch free a soft ball as opposed to a full inflated ball. Everyone knows that.
So, that wasn’t Brady’s idea to gain that advantage. That was Belichick’s, the guy who deflected the blame by throwing Brady under the bus about whatever Tom does with the ball is his deal.
Brady’s only job—we all know “Do your job,”—was to make sure the balls were soft enough to maintain possession by his skill players but still sufficiently inflated to throw an accurate pass.
So, he and “The Deflator” made sure of that. And all those text messages between the two were destroyed when Brady broke his phone in two.
Cheaters deserve no excuses for their cheating. It ruins the game and brings dishonor.
