Late in the season he finally made adjustments that have improved results. He took far too long, but better late than never.
He has probably done enough ‘adjustments’ to save his job and get a 2nd year with McVay. This would fetch the Rams 2 future 3rds as comp picks, btw.
If he continues next year with this more aggressive (and successful) version of his D then I think teams will beat a path to his door with HC offers. But his opportunities this offseason will be limited because he squandered them by his disappointing usage of so much passive D for the first 3 months of this season. An amazing display of stubbornness.
As an aside, another thing that I suspect is giving other teams pause about Morris is perhaps things like regression of DW and Burgess this year early on. It raises questions in my mind as to his ability to place his players in best situations to take advantage of their talents. He also insisted on starting Rapp and I’m not sure that was in the best interest of the overall D. Teams with HC openings are probably put off by such questions about his decision making process.
