It’s hard to be amorphous. Belichick has been the best at it and has survived 20 years (with a little help of cheating).
Once people know your pattern you’re an easy mark.
But McVay has shown he seeks to get better. That doesn’t mean he knows what the underlying problem is.
But if he can discover his inner soft underbelly and address the soft play of his teams when they square off against bullies, then he will have made progress towards addressing his real weakness.
That won’t be easy to do and he may never see it.
