McVay was bad, no doubt. Where were some more tunnel screens and jet sweeps? The one jet sweep to Kupp was a good run. But that's the only one I remember.
The niners know the Rams; look at how their d-line played. Their d lineman would hook under all the Rams o-lineman, in synchrony, and drive them into the backfield where the run was supposed to go.
Too many 5-7 step drop, long developing plays. The niner's d line was pinning their ears back. The Rams were the red-headed stepchild on both sides of the ball. And McVay's playcalling didn't help. But the Rams pay the five guys up front on offense; have some dignity and pride.
Defense came up snake eyes in big time opportunities, minus a couple big plays in the second half.
Team loss. There is a psychological warfare the niners have been waging, and it's working, to our chagrin.
