I think so. There is value in accumulating stats and longevity but "fame" is the ultimate barometer. The guys who did it at a high level on the biggest stage were seen by many more. I can understand why that might be unfair to guys who weren't on as good of teams but that is their bad luck, not everyone else's responsibility.
Some guys transcend their franchises and that changes the conversation. Barry was so good, the team's lack of success didn't matter. But if it's between guys who are both really good, but not transcendent, then the more popular team is rightfully going to propel one over the other.
