The Los Angeles Rams are 6-1 after their win against the Detroit Lions 28-19 and are now the clear challengers to the undefeated Arizona Cardinals for the NFC West since the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers both took losses this week falling further behind in the rankings.

Here are three reasons to be excited about the Rams heading into week eight.

Matthew Stafford is the right kind of leader for the Rams. From all accounts while he played in Detroit, Stafford’s competitive will is natural and doesn’t seem to be connected to wins or losses or even the scoreboard. But now that he’s in Los Angeles and has been here for near half a season it’s starting to feel like his swagger has a new layer to it.

Jalen Ramsey shows no mercy. Ramsey knows that while many accounts he is considered the best in the game at the cornerback position. However, he also knows that he is under the microscope to prove it every time he steps on the field. This season he is being challenged to do more than just guard one receiver which is difficult to do on it’s own the way he’s able to shut them down. But this year he is embracing his role in the star position and against the Lions demonstrated the different ways he can affect the game from that spot.

Cooper Kupp is the best receiver in the league. For those that want to argue on ability or career stats the debate is limited to who owns the spot of number one best. But when it comes to Kupp being elite, top 3, or when it comes to straight production so far this season, it’s clear that Kupp is at the top of the hill
