OK, but how about the ability to coach unit competence? I'd gladly trade 1 or 2 over-reaches for the chaos we have had there since he left.
Furthermore, who is responsible for a S T coach taking too many chances? Doesn't the H C have the juice, indeed the responsibility for overseeing S T coach decisions? A strong H C will make it clear to the unit coach what is and is not acceptable. If the unit coach goes rogue and the H C doesn't control the situation, that's on the H C.
Maybe Sean laid out constraints for Fassel in the off season and Bones declined. OK.
