The Ram OL this year should be a top 10 run blocking unit, maybe even better than that.
As such, an elite RB may not be needed. A committee of good to very good RB’s might thrive in this Stafford led Offense.
IOW, Rams might just conclude that the necessary RB committee is already on this roster.
Hmmmmm…
We don't know the true impact of his loss because we don't know for sure if he was going to become an elite RB for the duration of the 2021 season.
Akers was projected by the majority of NFL pundits and fans to have a breakout season and (possibly) enter his name as one of the elite RB's.
Losing those type of players are not easy to replace no matter what position they play.
I get your point that RB's are one of the easiest positions to replace in the NFL. I've turned the page and moved on.
I'm simply hoping that Stafford's play and the O-Line are the biggest reasons why they're able to move on from Akers loss.
Not how the RB committee and possible additions make up for his great loss.
For now, I'm on the Xavier Jones, Jake Funk, Otis Anderson, Calais Campbell
and anyone else they have on the roster or add in the future bandwagon.Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/21/2021 04:35PM by Florida_Ram.
