The reason I brought up their sizes was in another thread I kept reading that Akers was so much bigger and that is why he is a bell cow and Hendu isn't. They're very similar in size. They are similar in speed too and I keep reading how Hendu is a change of space back. I, he's not. He's lightning fast as was Akers until this past Monday. They are both good at breaking tackles. They are from the same mold. Now, Inwould rather have both as they would be able to constantly attack your defense by rotating and staying fresh. But, we will also be throwing the ball a lot. Brown is a different kind of back. More north/south pure power. Peterson could replace him. Don't know enough about Jones and Funk to get excited about them as depth. We will sign somebody to deformity our depth. Who? Dunno. But, I'm all good with Hendu and I find it a little weird that I'm reading that Akers was the better back because Hendu is injury prone and Akers is the one who got hurt training and Hendu is healthy and ready to start the year.
This whole description by you leaves out the ONE MOST IMPORTANT difference between Akers and Henderson.
Akers has first-level in-traffic elusiveness, with very quick feet and first rate short area vision and instincts. He can make things out of nothing.
Henderson is explosive and has very good contact balance (as does Akers) but he does not have those "in traffic" micro-gears Akers has.
Akers is special in ways Henderson is just simply not, which doesn't mean Henderson is bad--it just means Akers has some elite skills Henderson doesn't.
