I can agree that Long, and Kiser are on the watch list.
Said before that Long's poor results weren't entirely on him. Stats can be misleading.
IIRC, missed ops to drop the QB ended up with Long on the wrong side of the tracks.
However, there is a component that I think is more important to note.
Special Teams
Those units were not up to snuff, and much of this last draft seemed to embrace improving those issues.
Long, for me, won't be a surprise cut. The approach to the draft has utterly changed for the Rams, and his 3rd Rd selection, in hindsight, might be viewed with a bit of disdain by the front office. He had plenty of "measurables," but has yet to show up on teams for me.
Rochelle may quickly find a role on teams, and some situational stuff that makes Long expendable.
Then there's Kiser
His role is pretty secure. What's makes him vulnerable is the health factor. He can ill afford to get dinged this preseason. My anticipation suggests that he'll be one of the guys left on the field plenty during the preseason. As a veteran, as a LB, he'll be out there with the "kids" taking extra work, and keeping the group on target. He's got a role, but he'll have to show all summer that he's not seeking the trainer.
Obo is not in anyway in trouble. Other than his own injury list, he's continued to play. Most of all, the coaching staff has to be working hard to let him accrue more "moves" in his journey to find the field more. Looking forward to see how he's developing.
