Yeah, he's a good example why having preseason back this August helps. He might show in those 3 games he has absolutely nothing. Or he could show enough that he is PS-worthy.
I can't get anyone to notice the character issues with these guys.
In terms of that, I actually don't care if Jackson makes it or not. There's nothing especially worthy about him.
With Corbett, Anchrum, and Brewer, they stood out as special. The kind of prospects you root for and are proud are on your team.
What, exactly, are his ‘character issues’? I’m unaware of any in this kid. I do know that he cared enough about success to become a vegan to help lose bad weight. And that he started 42 games at Iowa.
Now, whether he can make the roster remains to be seen. I’m keeping an open mind on him and all the other rookies, too.
I didn't make this clear enough maybe. I didn't say there were "character issues" with this kid the way you took that. I said that you could tell immediately with the other 3 I named that they had special character and leadership qualities and that with this kid, near as we can tell now, there's nothing like that. I said he was lackluster and had no standout leadership qualities and unique character traits of the kind you can immediately see with the other 3.
It's nice with the Rams if a UDFA is worthy of making it but we'll see. A higher percentage of UDFAs don't make it, obviously. It's hard to predict who will when they are first signed. But when it comes to this one kid, his blahness stands out in comparison to the special qualities we saw with Anchrum, Corbett, and Brewer. Those 3 represent what the Rams can dig up. Jackson's just another OG/ROT prospect. There's nothing special about him.
