I dont think the Chiefs really intended for Blythe to start. Blythe I think it was said somewhere that he wanted to be closer to home.

Now that they Drafted a Center Blythe will either be the 1 yr stopgap or the BU Center if he gets beat out in which the latter will eventually happen barring injury etc.

If someone wants to look I think the Rams may have offered him a little more, but again he supposedly wanted to be closer to home.
