If Lott does not deflect a 10 to 0 Rams lead away, the Rams win that game. Watch that game again closely. The Rams D was playing very well against a Niners team that was absolutely ROLLING! (What a beat down they put on in the SB the next week!) The year before, that Niners bunch SMEARED the Bears at Soldier Field in FRIGID conditions in the playoffs. There was something about that Lott deflection. It deflected the Rams mentally. The Rams had just won FOUR playoff games in a row with THREE trios to the far East coast (I say four because the NY Jets at Anaheim and at New England had to be won to make the playoffs) I never saw the big fuss over Everett taking a dive or calling him weak. He had just gone toe to toe with Buddy Ryans bunch and L.T. and the Giants and played well. Niners were not exactly crushing him. It was simply just another part of the Rams mental implosion. They were exhausted.
