I think first off the QB upgrade was profound. Goff's confidence was in the dumpster and McVay's high standards and ultra-competitive personality was too much for his fragile psyche to handle. Stafford is going to pair perfectly with McVay.
Akers going into year two should be an absolute beast. Higbee's value in the passing game will spike a bit too because Stafford will put up contested balls. They went out of their way to load the eligibles group to better handle Kupp missing time, plus added a ton of speed to this offense.
Defensively they addressed their biggest weakness: physicality. It's going to be harder to bully this defense hopefully.
The achilles heel of this team is potentially whether the offensive line can be bullied by the physical DL out there in the league. But getting rid of Blythe who was a weak link up front will make this line better. He was a major liability. Corbett has questions re: the line calls however he has a QB who can oversee that now. So IMO what we have is a team that should score a ton of points and win a ton of games and the question is will they wilt in the playoffs. Line strength on both sides of the ball will be the determining factor on that IMO but I expect they're going to be strong enough to dominate the competition.
