What team reveals their year by year plans of how they plan to address each position?
Does Cocoa Cola announce their strategy?
Does the Pats?
How about Warren Buffet? Or the CEO of Apple?
Of course the Rams have a plan.... for LOT, for Center, for every position. To think that they're overlooking when each player comes up for contract renewal, FA, etc., is naive. You can't fulfill everything a single way in a single moment. There are drafts ever year; FA every year; trades every year; good players cut for cap reasons every year; and players that develop every year. Good vets, long in the tooth, but with something left in the tank that want a 1 or 2 year shot at a ring happen every year to admirably fill holes.
The question is whether the unrevealed plans they have will work and produce what they hope. And the reality is that no matter who you are, some plans will work wonderfully, others will fall short and you have to adapt.
What is kind of ironic around here is the wailing and moaning about how bad the Rams Oline was, when in fact they were quite good even with Big Whit out. Listen to national commentators, local media like Jourdon who knows something, and even to analytics folks like PFF and it's all the same. At worst the Rams Oline was a top 10 and more like somewhere in the 7 or 8th best range. Or was Andy Reid and the KC Chiefs dumb for picking up Austin Blythe as an upgrade to their Superbowl Center? Or the Rams dumb for not keeping him for the same paltry salary. Why not? Because they think they have better in their own roster.
The problem the last 2 years was not the Oline or the skill position players. It was at QB, and the Rams took drastic action to remedy it. All this oline has to do this year is to be about as good as they were last year, and with our skill position players and Sean McVay leading them, and an elite armed QB like Stafford to dissect the opposing D's, this Rams O is going to be something special. And this Oline has proven depth.
So, I guess I can trust Snead to have a plan and that it'll work...... or I won't. I've decided that I will, and I do.
