Dead as I messaged you, I am totally impressed by the depth of your scouting and how you put it all together is beyond my comprehension. Excellent work and much appreciated.
One note just as a LSU alumni/ season ticket holder on Jabril Cox:
Last year the LSU defense was an unmitigated disaster. With a return to the 4-3 and DC Bo Pelini it was a hot mess with coverage breakdowns and a few kids that weren’t ready to play. Jabril Cox came with a ton of fanfare and filled a hole with the departure of Patrick Queen.. His first game against Miss St he had a pick 6, but the defense gave up the most passing yards ever in a single SEC game to a guy who was benched two weeks later. Cox to me looked great at times in coverage but routinely took bad angles on run plays. It was not uncommon for both ILB to fill the same hole on the same play !!! Is it all coaching? Cox was an OLB at NDST and moved inside at LSU which wasn’t pretty at times. When he transferred he comped to me similar to Kwon Alexander but Kwon was a beast against the run and in coverage. Jabril routinely seemed to be guessing on run plays. . Again just my assessment as a fan. Watching games last year when LSU was on defense I would just watch the two ILBs. On most long runs they left gaps uncovered as they either guessed wrong or filled a gap that was already filled for some unknown reason.I hope the best for the kid but he should moved outside in the pros because he’s not a thumper and has limited experience inside. Again the coaching was horrendous so I can’t really assess a player in one year playing a new position. He was hurt at LSU’s pro day and I’m not sure he did very much so that may have been another issue on him. My point I suppose Is if you need a run stuffing ILB he wasn’t it based on what I saw last year.
