I've seen a few posts about the Rams' pending free agent OL next year: Corbett, Noteboom, Shelton, Allen and Brewer.
Well, Shelton is a RFA, so much like Darious Williams this year the Rams will have right of first refusal on any offer he gets and will get compensated if they don't match. Basically, if the Rams want to keep Shelton they will.
And Brewer will be an ERFA, which mean he will only be able to negotiate with the Rams.
Leaving Corbett, Noteboom, and Allen.
I don't know what to make of Allen: he could be anything from starting center to camp cut. Corbett seems to have the inside track on center, though, and if he beats out Allen as expected then I doubt Allen sticks as a backup due to his deficiencies at guard. So maybe he's the 9th or 10th OL, maybe he's cut ... but either way his potential loss in FA is not likely to have a huge effect on the 2022 OL.
My only 2 concerns as potential OL FAs next year, then, are Corbett and Boom. It will be interesting to see what the market is like for a guy who at best has 1 years' experience as a starting center and another guy who has not to this point progressed past swing tackle (and missed 16 games the past two years).
