Sorry, I can't choose any of these options when there's not a single offensive tackle being picked.
In a draft that's more loaded than usual with great offensive tackles (some experts say it's this year's most talent-heavy position), given that the Rams' starting LT will be 40 years old by the end of 2021, given the decent chance the Rams starting RT will be a cap casualty next year, given that the team's top backup will be a free agent after the season, I'd say value and need match up.
...I share this criticism.
In fact if the Rams don't draft a tackle in rounds 2 or 3, I will be worried about this draft.
The odds of getting a FA LOT in 2022 are not good. Why? Because they're never good. The Rams were lucky to get Whitworth, really. That was a great stroke of luck. And on top of it, Trent Williams just escalated what good LOTs get in free agency.
The worst case scenario is having to draft a rookie next year, who will have to start.
