Getting a better idea of what the top 100 might look like so I wanted to lay out 4 mocks of our first 4 picks only.
I'm laying out 4 because we have legit questions that need answering and we're not going to get the answers. I also have a few players I like in different places. A couple picks will be repeated.
Is our starting OC on our team right now?
Is Terrell Lewis capable of staying healthy.
Is Darious Williams going to sign long term with us?
I think the talent after the top 20 is similar down through 70 or 80
Mock 1 (Our center is not on our team)
2) Creed Humphrey He's ready to go, he's played on the biggest stages with no NFL QBs behind him.
3) Elerson Smith It's a deep position this year and he didn't get to compete at the combine ... or he'd be in the conversation at 57.
3) Tay Gowan Opt-out that we obviously like ... UCF is known for having the best DBs of a non power 5 school.
4) Derrick Barnes Still learning the position (converted DE who had 9 sacks previous year)... sideline to sideline speed and finishes angry.
Mock 2 (We are not resigning DW)
2) Asante Samuels Jr. Really a first round CB on a normal year, just chance he gets pushed down due to top end talent at key positions and in front of him.
3) Quin Meinerz Animal that could be our starting center after a season's worth of backup reps or slide in at OG in 2 years.
3) Chazz Surratt Better athlete than his brother the WR, long arms and good instincts.
4) Hamilcar Rashed Slides to the 4th because of an off year after having 19 sacks the previous year.
Mock 3 (Terrell Lewis cannot stay healthy)
2) Joseph Ossai Edge Freak athlete who played LB before converting to DE, his numbers are not as fresh in everyone's heads or he could go in round 1.
3) Paulson Adebo CB Opt out at CB who was eyeballing round 1 as a sophomore going into his junior year. This is a steal here.
3) Kendrick Green IL Big nasty kid who has played Center and OG ...
4) Derrick Barnes ILB See mock 1.
Mock 4 (all other questions answered in the affirmative, not drafting with needs in mind)
2) Jabril Cox ILB Special player who adjusted to the SEC seamlessly. Basically consensus 4th best ILB in the draft. Can rush the passer, too.
3) Quinn Meinerz IL See mock 2. I like him and we've met with him twice.
3) Daelin Hayes Edge I liked his tape, he put up god numbers, had a decent senior bowl ... 4.71 at 260 doesn't look as hot after a dude runs a 4.37.
4) Thomas Graham CB We like him, and he's had solid tape, and ran well enough. Honestly he reminds me of Troy Hill, both Ducks.
Questions and comments welcome ...
