Rams will have a significant QB edge this year most likely. But after that we're in for some epic matchups between two of the best young coaches in the league. Pete Carroll is a fine coach but he's not in the class of these two guys IMO. Rams vs 9ers is the future and that's how the division should be.
I see it that way, too.
I have 2 more relevant thoughts to add.
I give Stafford a big edge over any QB that 49ers are likely to get in this draft and I think that edge will extend for at least 5 more years.
I further give Rams’ Snead the edge over 49ers’ Lynch for the foreseeable future.
Agree on Stafford. But I don't agree on Snead. I think Snead's playing russian roulette in fact. If they don't quit extending guys early and getting burned by it the 9ers will outpace them.
Also just in terms of us vs the 9ers... Our inability to stop their run game is a problem. If we can get more stout vs the run we will dominate them. If we don't get better vs the run we may come out on the losing end head to head. But I also think McVay's had it with losing to Shanny. So this is why we are going to see some front 7 additions to our defense in this draft.
