Ok, Coy, get this!
Yesterday I got into a long debate with a friend who HATES Tom Brady; he can't stand him. He said that, at most, Brady should only have 3 Super Bowl wins. He went on and on about Deflategate, the 'Tuck Rule' and things like that. He's a big Lakers fan, so I sent him ESPN articles where Shaquille O'Neal (and other NBA players) stated that they regularly deflated balls before games so that they could handle them better. When I asked him whether he felt that the Lakers should 'vacate' their championships during the years that they won with Shaq on the team, he said no, because the ball doesn't really matter as much in basketball as it does in football.
Now this is a guy who played both sports in High School and played some football in college. He said that a soft ball screws up a whole game because more players handle it, but in basketball you can dribble harder.
He actually said that.
Then he said that Tom Brady is on steroids because no pro athlete can play well as long as he has. When I asked him about Serena Williams (another athlete he likes), he said that her career is different because she has worked hard her whole life and that that fact allows her body to get naturally stronger as she ages.
I was flabbergasted. This guy isn't a meathead, he's pretty bright actually.
I was like, 'What the hell?'
