That team had FANS in San Diego. Most of the ones that didn't burn their jerseys aren't traveling two hours north to give Spanos one red cent. So what you have, is a traditionally underachieving team trying to carve a new fan base in an existing fanbase market. Would have worked if it had been the Raiders, but it isn't working with the Chargers.

Really, really bad idea. An expansion team would be faring better.
