Cap goes up.... so does salaries

March 18, 2021 11:39PM
The Cap looks like it will be increasing significantly (except maybe not as much as would be expected immediately due to Owners wanting to offset some of the losses??).

So what does that mean for the Rams. To me it would suggest that we won't have to cut any players to avoid being over the cap and will no doubt have some extra change to dabble in free agency.

But Teams with more cap space still have the potential to overpay (if that's even a real thing in a market) meaning the players salaries are also going to shoot up. I would expect some star players might want to renegotiate their contracts (or at least try), because £20m for a star defender is possibly going look like an absolute bargain in a few years? I can only imagine what QB's will command.

I wish they had raised the minimum values for the years of experience.... Such that maybe it reflected a higher % of the total cap space.
