RAMpant Defense
I didn't get a chance to see him play last season. His numbers were okay considering he was coming back from an ACL and played on the Bengals. The guy will be 33 next season. Does he have anything in the tank? He played at Georgia with Stafford. I always liked his game, a deep-ball artist at 6'4" 215 lbs. Something to maybe consider if the price is right.
I believe that Green has definitely lost a step due to injury/age over the past couple of years. But as was mentioned in this thread...He played every game last season and had to adjust to a new QB. Also, though he was fast in his prime, he also possessed excellent body control on his deep routes. I saw him as Randy Moss-lite for his ability to go over the top of defenders to pull the ball down. Because of this ability and his size, CB's needed safety help.
But I'm wondering if McVay is looking for pure speed like Cooks and Watkins. Those guy would stress a defense based solely on speed and I think McVay used that threat more to open things up underneath for Woody and Kupp. I don't believe that Green can do that any longer.
But, who knows.
I'd also like to see him and Ramsey go at it again...they have a history.
