All the off-season hand-wringing over cap space year in and year out and how does it equate to wins? Have not ever seen any kind of analysis. It seems that teams with the most cap space are usually perennial losers. Maybe the poor drafting has resulted in them not re-signing many of their own when it comes to second contracts. And maybe that bad front office signs the wrong free agents year after year with all their 'extra space'.

If you look at the top 12 teams with the best cap space - only one team was in the playoffs last year, and many haven't sniffed the playoffs in years.

Exactly, promo.

Rams have little cap space, even after major restructuring, but they also have few real needs, either. And are a perennial SB contender, it seems.
