I take your point, Rock. Money talks especially in short careers like the NFL.

But for me at some point around $10M per year other factors start to come into play.

Coaching
Winning franchise with a shot at a ring.
Desirability of the city for my family, especially the kids.
Whether the new team has elite players to draw attention (like an AD).

Winning teams and losing teams will both be offering JJ or any premium FA a ton of money. So why not get the best balanced package?
