Yes in 79 when our decimated Rams made it to the SB Proudy I really didnt expect them to Win it as we know that we had a boatload of Rams Teams from 67 on that if they made it to the SB they could have Won. I still remember SB media that week that yr and listening to it on the radio back then traveling down the Freeway as it was fun as we finally made it, but again I really didnt think we would Win but knew with what our Rams had to go thru was a Heckuva Accomplishment to just get get there.. But when we led going into the 4th Qt I started entertaining the thought that we may Win it. Even when the Steelers took the lead fairly late I still thought we could Win. But here come Ferragamo and our Rams charging down the Field now I really start to believe as the Rose Bowl was in our Backyard and that place was going crazy full of Rams Fans ! Again I was feeling the old Joe Namath and the Jets type upset. Billy Waddy WIDE OPEN WAVING THROW ME THE BALL VINCE ! LETS BEAT THE STEELERS ! ITS LIKE YES THROW HIM THE DARN BALL VINCE ! FANS ARE GOING CRAZY STEELERS FANS ARE SICK FOR A MOMENT. Vince finally throws the ball right in the middle of the field inside the 5 to Lambert for basically the game sealing pick. Looking back I was as proud of those Rams as the 99 Rams but after all those bitter playoff loses in the late 60s-70s we were all kinda hoping can our Rams just have a little luck and pull off the upset. I still remember Fred Dryer at Card shows whispering to Vince always throw it to the "Guy with the Horns" Please lol !. But our Rams did enough to win but you cant make epic mistakes like that. Yes in 2001 our Rams hands down were the Best Team in the NFL as even John Madden said it, but in that SB there was many blind eyes turned for our Rams ? and later we would find out there was other shenanigans that went on to slant the game ? I dont think any of us Rams Fans will be at peace until we Hopefully Win another SB ! GO RAMS !
