Stafford wasn't available prior to this season though.
McVay changed his mind about being hitched to Goff. Maybe there's some grounds for criticism there. But Stafford is such a good acquisition, it balances all that out IMO.
The Rams signed 3 players to big contracts they moved on from--Cooks Gurley Goff. Plus they lost 4 coordinators and an OL coach in the space of 2 years (and only one of those left for a promotion.) Do the Rams just move fast on decisions in an effort to make themselves--in their own eyes if nothing else--more competitive? Or are they impatient? There is a lot of NFL history to come, and time will tell. We'll see how all this looks in the long long run.
But in the short term, Stafford is an interesting qb to have.
