My view of the defense in 2020 was that it was elite against the pass and medium against the run.

Aaron Donald is a huge reason for this in that he gets so much penetration that he makes the pass game very difficult and against the run he is boom/bust in that he gets a lot of TFLs but also vacates gaps and leaves occasional big holes.

The secondary was outstanding, especially with the rams leading so much during the season.

So what do we think will happen in 2021? Morris had a poor defense in the first half of the season. They were better against the run and did improve in the secondary as the season went on.

I feel like it's very unlikely the Rams will retain the top defensive spot next season for a number of reasons (coaching chg, personel chg, injury bug, schedule chg, etc).

What do you expect next season? Another top 5? Top 12? worse?

Obviously FA like Johnson and Williams are a huge question mark still. Upgrades may be available in the draft at LB.
