All McVay had to do was bring a mediocre offense and everyone would be better. He did a little more than that in year one.
Gurley was hurt in 2016. McGinnis in a later interview stated that he was not healthy that season. Thinking back, it was easy to see it. According to his own account he started workouts 1 or 2 months later than usual, lost weight in the off-season, and was never used in training camp or pre-season games. There was something physically wrong with him that season.
