Yup. Remember the ‘Big Whit Effect’ back in ‘17?
What if a similar quality FA could be plugged in at C? Can you imagine how that would help Stafford and company? Goodness.
Crank up that restructuring machine, Demoff! Lol.
My own feeling is that cause of the cap situation they will only be able to add a decent FA if they make
big sacrifices somewhere else.
The C either has to be on the roster or they have to draft him. That's what it looks like.
I’m thinking two things.
First, I think that the owners and the Players Assoc will come to some kind of accommodation that will spread this cap issue over 4-5 years. If so, the cap won’t be the back breaker that it would otherwise be. Just makes too much sense for all parties.
Second, I think that the Rams know that they’re in ‘win now’ mode. Too much invested in the likes of AD, Ramsey, Whit, Woods, Kupp, and now Stafford and the clock is ticking. Plus they’ll be welcoming fans to their new palace this year, hopefully. It’s a ‘future is now’ world for the Rams so they can feel justified in breaking trends like resisting restructuring, etc. and just go for broke.
JMO, of course.
