Stafford's Health?

February 02, 2021 09:06AM
It is what it is! Whether you were pro Goff or Anti Goff, Matt Stafford is our QB 1. I do not profess to know much about Stafford, so here are my thoughts and concerns moving forward.

Durability?
All I recall about Matt Stafford the last few years has been injury and personal family stuff being talked about. I do not have all the stats, but I do know he missed quite a few games the last few years. I also remember him having some serious back issues as well at some point in his career. I believe his wife had brain cancer and numerous surgeries and he continued to play and support her at same time. With all of Goff's problems, he was durable. My question is how durable can we count on Stafford to be?

As many have stated on the board, if we get 5 good years from him, it was a good trade. My concern is that if he is one of those that will miss 6-8 games a season due to ongoing injuries. I know McVay will do his best to protect him, but I also know that if the goal is to throw the ball deeper down the field, he will have to hold it longer. Does anyone have a list of injuries and games missed?

Wasn't it the Left non-throwing shoulder that was injured in 2009?
