I like Silver and I think he does a good job coloring this story. I don't know why the Snead handled this the way he did but I am assuming he wasn't just trying to be a jerk. But evidently McVay and Snead are both pretty horrible people based on this article. Luckily the tough, dignified and unwanted QB has now found a place that truly wants him. A team that is going to focus on running the football. Oddly they are doing that now that Stafford, who evidently never had much of a running game, is gone.
I wonder if the Rams had waited if the offers for Goff were going to start pouring in. Instead they had to give up the farm to get rid of him.
And then there is the 4 hour heart to heart. What a jerk McVay is for stringing Goff along. Stabbing him in the back. Congratulating Rodgers and over-praising him like the two-faced McVay does. And then at a press conference, where McVay was clearly devastated by the loss, he failed to over-praise Goff. I've never heard McVay fail to over-praise. WHY? I think if we knew that things would come to light real quick. Unfortunately that angle didn't really work for this spin on things.
Remember Tavon Austin? Does anyone recall McVay doing anything other than over-praise the guy? Even when they traded him he was still over-praising him. That's who McVay is... so why the "Yeah, he's the QB right now" comment? Is it out of character or does McVay simply lack character?
