Understand the logic. There is some truth to time of possession helping your defense.
But that is not the reason the Rams can't seem to get the ball off until 1 second left on every play. Gives me a heart attack all game. So frustrating.
And that is not the reason we run 70% of our plays behind the line if scrimmage with a east west pass instead of north.
And end up in tons of 3rd down situations.
And get more field goals than TD's.
The time of possession is a result of all these inefficiencies above.
Because if you could score in 3 plays... you would.
And when you don't practice throwing 30 yard chunks at a time, you become bad at them. When you do them all day long, it becomes easier.
So I'll pass on time of possession.
Forget establishing the run. Whoever scores more, wins..
Defense doesn't win championships. Of the top 4 offenses, maybe the one with the best defense wins. And that's a maybe.
