But to be fair--you're not naming "opportunities." You're identifying press rumors and chatter. That's not the same thing.
Now that Snead has come out and backed up McVay, it's very clear to me that this is intentional and creating a situation where Goff can be traded.
Watson and Rodgers are doing the same thing by publicly disclosing their displeasure.
My opinion now is that Snead and McVay got together before the wildcard and Snead said something along the lines of: 'If you want a new QB, it's time to show we are open to moving on so we get the most interest possible from teams wanting to trade. Never disparage the asset. Make it known that the situation can change and he's only our QB right now or in this moment'.
McVay seemed pretty intent on a change after that Seattle game. He seemed almost surprised Goff played so well in the division round but ultimately he's already moved on to some level knowing he may have to wait another year with Goff.
