-Goff didn't get the start vs Seattle because he broke his thumb on his throwing hand.
-Goff wasn't benched because Wolford won the job, Goff was injured...... In practice after the final Arizona game, it was reported that Goff was having issues with his throwing hand where 25% of his practice throws were affected by his thumb.
-Had Goff not broken his thumb, it's highly unlikely that would've seen Wolford play at all.
-You can't pin the blame this season or loss in Green Bay on Goff.
-Special teams was less than average this season
-Defense was ranked #1 but not elite in critical moments.
A # 1 defense shouldn't allow Nick Mullens to drive 80 yards for a game winning FG in the final minutes of game...in addition, it should have been a 99 yard drive if Van Jefferson pinned Hekker's punt on the 1 in that game.
Goff rallied the Rams back in Buffalo, but the defense allowed a 4th and 10 gift TD to end the game.
You can't allow the Jets to break their winless streak.
To win a playoff game in Green Bay all three phases of the team have to contribute.....that includes allowing a 26 second drive right before half, where 2 potential INT's were dropped, You can't allow a 60 yard run to open the 2nd half.... you can't allow a team to score on every possession in the 1st half. Not many QB's in the history of the league can overcome that.
Tom Brady would not be going to the NFC Championship this week had TB's defense not come up with 4 turnovers.
I agree with most who say that the road to this year's Super Bowl didn't have to go through Green Bay in the divisional round.. .losses to Buffalo, Miami, Jets, and 2 to SF where the reason, and you can't pin all those losses on Goff.
