Because odds are if you want an edge rusher, at the Rams spot you are taking the 7th to 9th best edge in the draft. Whereas you probably are looking at the 3rd or 4th best ILB.
So is the 9th best Edge graded the close enough to the 4th best ILBer to justify drafting him? Thats the goal of the draft, to improve your team with the best players available.
Maybe they take the 1st or 2nd highest graded Center.
