......I certainly would be the first to admit I'm not the expert on evaluating NFL QBs. I know when a guy throws a pick, fumbles the ball, misses an open receiver, or fails to see the open man. Obvious stuff right there. But as for the nuances of the game, nah, I'm not the guy to call on.
So what about Goff? I've actually liked the guy. First as a person, second as a QB. He's won games, a lot of them, all under McVay. Unfortunately, he lost the perennial Pro Bowl RB, Todd Gurley, but Gurley just wasn't the same starting the end of the 2018 season. The O line has always been questionable to me, since 2004.
So here we are.
My conclusion, besides the fact I'm just an everyday fan? That McVay knows what he wants in a QB and if Goff doesn't deliver that, well then, McVay will find a way.
Not that McVay doesn't have his issues as well. He needs to be better in the red zone and needs to vary the attack (but I think he has used more variety of formations this season). But so it is.
Bottom line. I still trust McVay and Snead and that they will do what is needed to get the QB play they want.
