Don't see it that way at all.....he is limited by this current offense as a whole.
Goff didn't limit his play calling in 2017 and 2018 when we went from worst offense in league in 2016 to the best in NFL the next year in 2017....or the Super Bowl the following year in 2018
People are quick to forget that Goff was a top 5-7 QB in just about every relevant QB stat in both of those years, but this offense just hasnt been the same since Gurley re-injured the knee and we lost our deep threat WR's (Watkins in 2017 and Cooks in 2018) we just aren't the same offense physically up front since the days of Saffold and Co mauling people in the run game and protecting Goff like they did back then.
This just isn't the same offense it once was..... I think we drafted Cam and Van to replace the two big losses in Gurley and Cooks, but they're just not there yet and may never be.....but you know what, they still put up points and yards and wins while we wait for that to happen. It is not Goff affecting the run game or the deep threat...its the lack of a run game and deep threat that affect Goff along with Kupp and Woods
I don't think he forgot how to play QB and I don't think McVay forgot how to coach.......we are the youngest team in the NFC and will go through some growing pains....today was one of them
