I say that there is plenty of blame to go around if we’re being honest. I’m too bummed right now to even begin to point fingers.

We wuz out played and out coached for 3 quarters.

FOUR turnovers didn’t help, obviously.

I also must admit that Shanny seems to own McVay. 4 consecutive wins is pretty darned convincing.

Rams now look like a playoff ‘also ran’. A one and done team. Sigh...

9ers seem to match up with the Rams same as the Rams match up with Seattle.

And they had two weeks v. a Rams short week with missing practices.

Still having said all that...Goff had a bad game, so did McVay (Shanahan always seems to have plays, McVay sometimes doesn't).

I expect both Goff and McVay to keep on progressing. But 3 bad games in a year is a lot.

That's a reasonable take. But the 9'ers didn't have better players today. They had a better plan. I keep pounding the table for a more varied run blocking scheme with powers and traps when the zone isn't working. It's not like McVay hasn't used them before. He just does it so rarely. On defense, if the refs EVER start calling the holding v AD, the 9'ers would never complete a pass beyond 5 yards. Many of Debo's yards were a result of our defenders trying to strip him instead of tackling.

As for Goff, terrible game. Just terrible. He does throw some good passes but they are overshadowed by his errors. McVay wants him to own a larger responsibility with the offense but Goff is clearly not ready for that.

Games like this make me want to divorce myself from being an emotional fan. The team doesn't get that luxury. McVay simply has to babysit Goff from here on out this year. ZN, I admit you were right. McVay has to run only the plays Goff can handle. Which brings me back to the run game. Goff isn't the key. Kromer is.
