I know what they are when they're playing well... but those off games, sometimes off quarters, halfs, remain mysterious to me. There seems to me, during those lulls, (collapses I suppose), something that permeates the entire team... far beyond Goff alone.

A game in which Everett, Kupp, Woods, Reynolds, ALL drop very catchable balls... and defense when first contact almost NEVER results in a solid stop.

Someone recently used a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde comparison... couldn't be more apt IMHO.

We're 9 games in.... last game was good, I think.. have to believe they are figuring it out, and while some setback is certain I think the collapses we've seen should be rectified... or quickly being rectified... so like you yes, I think they have a shot for the SB.

For me it will be mostly hindsight. O know what I have seen that has been bad or suspect. Our defense is the best thing we have going but if they fail there are areas that should have been anticipated. Inside LBs and edge rushers. Schematics of our D is currently winning the day. I hope that becomes overrun by emerging talent.

If our offense does not deliver we know at least I do that balance is our goal but execution. Is critical. Protection and QB anticipation and timing, separation and catching all areas that have had critical lapses contributing to earlier losses.

I am confident this team can be a contender. If we don't make it I will also know why.
