IMO its back to the quick passing game. Get the ball out of Goff's hands quickly but still take some shots. The line if light years better than the line that faced the Bears last year so Goff will be throwing the ball more than 18 times for sure!!
But yes as you said they have some problems with the run... so the Rams need to run it and run it some more... and Goff needs to keep things alive in those 3rd and medium to long situations
No need to discuss the defense there because we know the Rams matchup there. My only concern is Foles in a close game and they have the ball. He can be streaky and extremely clutch in close games

The Rams' OL is playing well enough to handle a front like this IMO. McVay needs to adjust his playcalling though, it was too tight vs SF. Trust his line a bit more. Risk Goff a bit more. Let the kid put the ball up a bit more just time it well.
If Chicago can't roll up tight vs the run they will be in trouble defensively. To date they've allowed like 71ish passer rating against. So hammer the run and throw it over the top. Basically cut out about half of the usual slate of screens and sillytime plays that are designed to handle overaggression by the front. Bears will be disciplined and they are fast on the second level with their LBs. Gotta mash on them in the run game, and take shots when they sneak safeties in.
Be ready for a tight, defensive game like you'd see in the playoffs. Lots of punting. But there is a chance someone breaks it open of course, I just think both teams will be limiting big plays UNTIL the other offense gets a run game rolling.
Good indicators for us: Bears can be had in the run game. And the Bears have a terrible run game.
Yeah Foles is dangerous when he's playing with that gambler type look to him. And I assume he'll have that look tonight. I'm sure going into this game they will attack the right side of our defense (so the left side from Chicago's offense point of view). Reason being the Rams run so much quarters and thus far this season had Fuller playing next to Hill. On film you can see Fuller anticipating things at times, like when Hill takes the wrong guy on his read. I don't know that Rapp can handle that. And I anticipate them challenging that duo all night. The other side is tougher with Williams and JJ (although JJ at times is a bit loose IMO with his coverage) and more dangerous because Williams baits the QB.
But both teams play variations of two deep safeties and lot of quarters similarities which is quite the rage this year around the league. And neither team has the kind of depth you need at wideout to blow up quarters so both teams will be waiting for the other team's safeties to blow the seam routes. Tonight's gonna require patience lol.
I'm eager to see how Rapp plays. If he can adjust to this (he's more a man coverage/run support classic SS type than a zone quick decision maker) it will not only help us survive this next month but it will also mean the Rams don't have to go draft a safety when JJ leaves. So worried but excited.
This is a playoff game during the regular season basically.
