If you watch the Rams this year you will notice they are lining up a center, two guards, and two tackles one on either side of the guards just like the 49ers. In fact so far this year its been every play. After being stymied last year McVay had to do something and it appears he has stolen these concepts from the 49ers who employ this set well over 99% of their plays. But I decided to dig deeper after all this may be explained as coincident. My suspicions however were confirmed when I noticed that the Rams are also lining up the QB behind the center and running backs in the back field and sometimes out wide, as well as tight ends and receivers positioned on the outside of he line. Based on this observation it is clear McVay has copied more than just plays from the 49ers. In fact the Rams like the 49ers put their running backs, receivers and tight ends in motion virtually every play. I just thought I should get this out there before that Sims dud scoops this story. The next thing you know and I will predict almost with certainty that the Rams QB will be handing off to running backs or receivers coming around the end, as well as throwing it to some of them down field. It’s certainly too bad the Rams didn’t hire a coach who was more creative. Will the plagiarism of the 49ers offense never stop!
I must add that based on the results of this unoriginal offense this year it appears the the Rams may steal more from the 49ers. I believe they will take the division from them too.
