agreed, Speed...the playcalling is protecting the OL...alot.

But there was that time in the 3rd when Goff was getting guys in his face and was throwing incompletes...and the OL looked like last year. Then, McVay started doin the the early stuff again and got Goff & OL back in rhythm to put it away. We're gonna see teams take that short stuff away and get us into uncomfortable down & distances...and then we'll really see what we have...straight up - no chaser!!
It's very HARD to block these incredible athletes straight up with no misdirection to slow them down...for any OL. imo
I'm just glad we have one of the best illusionists calling our offense...and since he's not an OC and instead our HC....we don't have to fear him being poached by another team...only our new/young 1st time OCs who he tutors for a year or two and then get HC gigs.
McVay will find the next OC after O'Connell moves on also!!...and out team will continue to thrive on offense. We honestly need to keep McVay Steelers/Ravens/Pats keep their coaches...FOREVER!!
