I think it genuinely something Goff hasn’t done consistently.
You know how Goff plays against the Saints? He needs more of those performances against other good teams and he needs to not fall of a cliff when things are going poorly.
Montana had his best games against tough defenses. I think a better comparison might be Alex Smith or even Jimmy G
Are you familiar with the QBR rating? Well typically Goff even in 2017 & 2018 was not rated very highly using the index. However in 2 games (yes small sample size) this year his QBR is 80. This is 20 points above highest rating in 2018 and a whopping 30 points above 2017. Each years in which he had a great oline and great run game. So... the QBR places far more weight on what the QB does to impact the game including fumbles and sacks taken for example
