Montana had the same thing going with the 9ers, a great head coach who was an offensive visionary. It's an advantage. But that doesn't mean you sit there and act like McVay is most of the deal.
Even Belichick with Brady. He gave Brady that element with his ability to anticipate what defenses would do and having ready-made solutions in a deep gameplan. BB's probably a better OC than most of the young coaches who wear that label.
Truth is Goff runs this offense very well. The only way to stop it is to own the LOS, get him in long yardage, and get in his face. Any pocket QB is going to struggle in that type of environment. And it's why all of a sudden "people haven't figured McVay out." He's not doing anything different. His QB has a run game and defenses can't tee off again this year.
Simms has some kind of weird envy of Goff. Like he projects his own failure into the evaluation or something. He's a clown.
