Last time i was regularly going to a sports bar was in the 90's too. this was in San Antonio Texas so we had lots of Cowboy fans but oddly a big group of Green Bay fans too, they were the reason for the successful run this sports bar had and it compelled them to show every game on a bunch of tv screens, so i had to give them credit; although the Rams game was always relegated to the smallest screen and no sound.
i was so sick of this one whiner's fan week in and out who'd chant 9'ers in a high pitched tone that sounded like a car alarm going off (inverse minor third an octave above middle C, for those who know music theory). Anyway, our big victory over the niners in 99 was the last time i saw him, he left early that game.
Since then Directv came and now finding live feeds online has replace that.
i sort of miss the antagonism from the fans of whatever team we were playing against and all cheering that went out in those days. Fall just doesn't feel the same, to be honest, but even in our bad years i never missed a game.
