Yeah, he played very well Sunday. But the truth is probably somewhere in between the guy that missed 7 tackles vs DAL and the guy who had 16 tackles vs PHIL. But for a guy billed as a between-the-tackles run stuffer he's played well in coverage so far (3 PD in two games).
Certainly 'rust' was an issue for him more than most last week. I like his effort and he seems like a smart LB, though. Keep focusing on refining technique, I think.
I've read good accounts (by dedicated fan types) of the Dallas game based on reviewing game film that claim Kiser did not miss 7 tackles. The argument is that some plays were marked as missed tackles when in fact Kiser was being blocked out of the play. I can't give you a more realistic number because I did not watch any all-22 film myself, but it is very credible fwiw that it's less than 7.
There was an article that showed clips of the 7 tackles he supposedly missed that made me think, dag, tough, TOUGH grader! In one case, the missed tackle was by Ebukam, not Kiser. In a couple others bringing the ball carrier would hav required an outstanding play - not what "missed tackle" implies. Certainly, he didn't have a great day tacking, but not nearly as bad as "he missed half his tackle attempts" (he was credited with 7 last week) implies.
